Come and be a part of this success.We have an opportunity to join our Mobile Equipment Maintenance team at our Mount Whaleback site, based in Newman. Reporting to the Superintendent of Field Maintenance, the Mining Equipment Maintenance Coordinator will play a key role in managing our contract partner, ensuring that work provided is delivered on time, in line with BHP quality standards and within budget. We are seeking an individual who has a demonstrated understanding of maintenance requirements within an operational asset, and has a high committed to reducing workplace risk through active participation in behaviour based safety programs.
This residential position offers a balanced lifestyle with flexible work arrangements offered to the successful candidate. As the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Coordinator your duties will include:
- Coordinate the
maintenance of crucial equipment including trucks, diggers, loader buckets
and major components of the asset
- Responsible for the
day to day management of vendors, including invoicing, workflow
requirement and site access
- Monitor contractors
working on site, ensuring compliance to BHP safety practices and codes of
conduct
- Ensure compliance of all
vendor delivered work to statutory obligations and Western Australia Iron
Ore standards
- Identify opportunities
for improvement and potential cost saving initiatives in system and
operational processes as well as vendor comparisons
- Provide feedback to vendors
around performance and process
You will be based in Newman, Western Australia. You will be working at the closely located ‘Mount Whaleback’ mine site, which at more than five kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide is the biggest single-pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world. The 7,000 strong population of Newman enjoys well-established town facilities including a newly revitalised town centre and sporting facilities. As a gateway to the Karijini national park, you will be in close proximity to spectacular gorges, water courses and stunningly unique landscapes. The residential positions will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies. As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
