Job Description
Reporting to the Rail Transport Supervisor, you are responsible for repairs and maintenance to rolling stock, servicing, testing, inspecting and properly repairing the mechanical components of the SD70 Locomotives. You will be based at Newman on a fly-in fly-out 7 day, 7 night, 14 day off roster, with travel required.
Other responsibilities include:
- Understanding of maintenance processes and procedures;
- Performing maintenance tasks on Rolling Stock;
- Mechanical diagnostics and repairs to Rolling Stock ECPB systems and ancillary cars;
- Following Maintenance Work Management Processes;
- Facilitating shift change overs;
- Occasional travel to remote locations to repair/recover Rolling stock;
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Mechanical trade qualification
- Locomotive fault finding and servicing experience preferred (EMD products desirable)
- Experience within field and workshop based maintenance to Rolling Stock will be highly regarded;
- Overhead bridging and gantry crane, vehicle loading crane and dogging experience also desirable.
- Minimum of C class manual drivers licence, HR class licence preferred
- Proven post trade experience in Rail, or heavy industry environments
- Be able to undergo a Category #1 Rail medical (Mandatory)
- Forklift ticket highly desirable
