About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant Integrity, this role provides support and solutions for the broader operations and engineering community at Olympic Dam. Interfacing with a diverse group of stakeholders and departments you will be able to demonstrate your problem solving ability and influencing skills to identify right-fix solutions and support the ongoing integrity of the site.
This position can be based in Adelaide (with regular site travel) or residential at Olympic Dam.
In this role you will be required to:
- Develop appropriate pressure equipment inspection plans to maintain integrity
- Review inspection reports and advise on remediation
- Assist in the planning and implementation of inspection programs
- Provide condition reports and updates to equipment owners
- Boiler water condition surveillance
- Corrosion rate assessment & estimation
- Undertake fitness for service assessment level 1 & 2
- Undertake remaining life assessments - API 581, API 653, ANSI B31.3 and AS3788
- Provide integrity engineering support for pressure equipment, piping and tanks
- Advise on repair, remediation and mitigation of damage mechanisms
- Liaise with production and engineering groups on integrity engineering issues
- Contribute to the development of the site's five year capital and operational budgets
- Ensure Safety, Constructability, Operability and Maintainability is preserved throughout the design lifecycle process
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Materials or Corrosion Engineering, or relevant demonstrated industry experience
- Solid understanding of Integrity Engineering principles with previous experience in aligned industries including mining, oil & gas, chemical or heavy industry
- Experience working with pressure vessels and piping
- Experience in NDT selection and inspection scope development
- ACIP in-service inspection experience is desirable
- NACE corrosion engineering qualification, or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical input to design and project execution, with an overarching drive for safety leadership
- Well-developed communication and engagement skills with an interest in providing technical leadership, stewardship, support and solutions
