About the Role
Based at Poitrel and reporting to the General Manager we are seeking a Site Systems & Training Superintendent to join our team. This is an exciting and challenging role where you will be accountable for the management, improvement and governance of the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) and associated training and information systems.
You will be responsible for leading the Site Systems & Training team and providing technical support to the systems on site that govern work practices and risk control processes. As well, you will liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to develop plans and facilitate the deployment of required activities across the site. You will lead your team to deliver measurable outcomes as part of a continuous improvement process, to bridge any identified gaps, facilitate change and embed new systems and technological tools. In this role you will oversee a number of key systems, applications and process across the site, including:
- Safety and Health Management System (SHMS)
- Training Management
This role is a 5/2 roster with flexible work options considered. Camp accommodation and meals provided with the role offered as DIDO from Mackay or Moranbah or FIFO from Brisbane.
In this role you will:
- Manage the Site Systems and Training team;
- Support the Senior Site Executive (SSE) in safe work practices that comply with the SHMS and meet the obligations required of the SSE under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations and other associated legislative requirements;
- Be accountable for the management of Site Training inclusive of the Site Training Scheme and Training Needs Analysis;
- Verify compliance and the effectiveness of the SHMS on behalf of the SSE and coal mine operator by providing a system of regular audit and review;
- Ensure department meets any standards set by the SHMS in reducing risk to acceptable levels.
About You
You will possess a relevant Training & Assessment qualifications with a minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment. Tertiary qualification or equivalent in Safety/Risk, Law, HSE or Business is desirable and candidates with a Site Senior Executive Notice will be viewed favorably. The successful candidate will have experience working at a Qld coal mine with a strong working knowledge of the intent of Qld Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations. As well, you will have experience in risk management principles and the governance of risk and safety management systems including statutory operational requirements and change management and knowledge of regulatory bodies, governance and risk management through risk assessments/execution and leading a risk management process.
