About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent, these roles will provide both initial and ongoing coaching to Supervisors and the general workforce in the application of tools and methods, and work to embed the OS way of working. Providing assistance to the teams to ensure performance metrics are achieved and operational processes are continually improved with safety first. The roster will be 4/3 with the option of FIFO, but is open to discussion for the right candidate. Your key deliverables include:
- The development of front-line capabilities and development of teams through the adoption and application of practises to achieve high performance through diagnosis, planning, coaching and execution practises;
- Focus on upskilling OS teams in problem solving skills and sustaining the new ways of working. Working to embed tools among the supervisors and frontline personnel to drive continuous improvements in frontline safety, productivity, and cultural metrics;
- Gather and examine basic reliability data from field studies or database and correlates the data for analysis using maintenance engineering techniques, principles and procedures;
- Initiates engineering studies into equipment/process failures and presents RCA or equivalent analysis details to more experienced teams/engineers for approval/feedback;
- Having ownership of the equipment reliability by supporting the synergies between site teams and corporate functions;
- Define reliability problems, trends and make recommendations for improvements;
- Develop skills in project management to drive delivery of the work;
- Prepares reliable and cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands to increase machine reliability to avoid failures;
- Progress reports on implementation and other BOS tools with each deployment.
About You
We are looking for individuals that possess business knowledge, demonstrate excellence in leadership on a day-to-day basis, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively influence others and have a strong ability to build capability in others and lead change. To be successful you will demonstrate the following:
- The ability to effectively identify opportunities to increase value and eliminate hazards, waste and variability from work processes and practices;
- A tertiary qualification in engineering or Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field;
- Overriding commitment to safety;
- Strong problem solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions;
- Ability to understand production/maintenance (systems) data;
- Ability to engage with all levels of the business from frontline employees to senior management;
- Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques advantageous;
- Experience as a reliability engineer or execution supervisor will be advantageous;
- Understanding defect elimination, RCA’s with a mindset for preventative maintenance;
- The ability to work collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders in order to deliver safety, process optimisation, improvements and down time eliminations;
- You will be hands on in implementing systematic improvement and be central to the spread of best practices across Operations Services teams;
- Experience developing and managing Maintenance Strategies in mobile equipment in Mining and understanding of SAP Master Data.
