About the Role
We are actively seeking the talents of a dynamic and technically skilled Mine Geologist to join our team.
Reporting to the Superintendent Geology Mining, in this key position you will ensure the timely and accurate flow of information from Geoscience and Exploration Mining Geology function into all customer groups including Production Scheduling, Mine Planning and OHP. Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide information re: location of potential and known hazardous minerals and materials to relevant personnel
- Manage and enforce quality assurance and control programs through auditing processes and ongoing feeback/direction,
- Validate GeoMet algorithm performance and highlight issues to the relevant Geoscience and Exploration teams
- Communicate any geological risks that may affect the mine plan or models relevant to stakeholders and safe execution of the mine plan
- Support the implementation of RC and STM grade control drilling programs and other technology enhancement projects
- Support the development and delivery of continuous improvement (CI) initiatives that drive value for the Mining Geology, Geoscience and Exploration
- Support the weekly CI routine. Manage projects with use of WAVE and progress initiatives through the respective stage gates
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a skilled Mine Geological with high level stakeholder engagement skills and the desire to deliver meaningful and impactful work. You are team oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in working with others to achieve results.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following specific skills and experience:
- Tertiary Qualification in Geology, Geosciences or related discipline
- Minimum of C class manual driver’s license
- Geological and Grade control logging
- An ability to collect, process and interpret geological date in a mine (and Exploration) setting
- Logistical planning and project management
- Working knowledge of industry standard mining and geological software and systems including Vulcan, GIS applications and Leapfrog
