About the Role
We are currently looking for an experienced and safety focused Supervisor to join the team in our busy Track Machine Maintenance workshop based at Port Hedland. Working on an attractive 2/2 FIFO roster, leading a team of multiskilled Mechanical and Electrical Technicians delivering maintenance activities to our fleet of track maintenance machinery.
Qualifications/Work History:
- Qualification in Electrical or Heavy Mechanical in a Rail environment is desirable
- Demonstratable Mechanical aptitude if no trade qualification is held
- Previous team leadership in one or more of the following would be desirable:
- Mechanical Hydraulics
- Electrical
- Team Leader in a Rail environment
Responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety and environment within Rail.
- Understanding and implementation of HSE standards/policies/procedures
- Problem solve weekly breakdown and performance issues specific to Track Machines through leading RCA and driving BHP Operating System practices.
- Drive an inclusive and diverse culture.
- Build relationships across functions\departments to achieve positive business outcomes.
- Identify, report and rectify hazards.
- Manage and coach work groups on quality execution.
- Strong commitment to the field leadership program and coach field leadership activities.
- Support the health and wellbeing of team members.
About You
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in leading workgroups and influencing stakeholders
- Contractor management skills
- Sound knowledge of defects, standards and maintenance practices
- Good communication, interpersonal and people management skills
- Proven ability to manage challenges in proactive positive manner
- Computer literacy with Microsoft suite, 1SAP and BHP systems
- Strong safety leadership skills and history of field leadership participation
- Be process driven
- Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines
- Exceptional risk management skills
- An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn
- Ability to problem solve and react to unplanned situations
- Exposure to project systems including LinkOne and Projectwise experience is favorable
