About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Investigations & Response, the purpose of the Manager Triage is to provide leadership, supervision and overall responsibility for the triage, case allocation and monitoring of reports that have been submitted into EthicsPoint (BHP’s case management system) or reported to the Ethics Team. This role provides ongoing technical and people leadership to the Triage team to achieve quality and timely outcomes. Additionally, this role maintains wellbeing as the first priority for team members and reduces phycosocial hazards associated with the job. Please note this role can be located in either Perth, Asia or Manila.
Additional accountabilities include:
- Leads team providing leadership on setting goals and KPIs, personal and professional development and managing human resources activities.
- Provides an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development including managing wellbeing.
- Develops and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with the Business by building trust and respect, acting with high ethical standards, objectivity, transparency, due care and professionalism
- Distill allegations of breaches of Our Code from reports of misconduct to enable triage and subsequent investigation
- Evaluate and classify cases in line with the BHP Triage matrix in Our Code, applying sound judgement and past learnings
- Allocates reports to the investigators, based on severity, priority, capacity and capability.
- Enhances application of the Triage Processes by applying improvement (BOS) tools and practices to drive improvement
- Leads innovation initiatives, driving a positive change within the Function
About You
As the successful candidate you are able to establish credibility through your demonstrated success, leadership and excellent communication skills; bringing extensive investigations experience to the role. You relate well with people with an engaging style allowing you to communicate enthusiastically and build strong working relationships.
Requirements that you bring to the role include:
- Degree in law, investigations, employee relations or related field
- Experience handling and managing matters of a confidential nature
- Extensive experience managing people
- Effective verbal and written communication (crisp, confident, clear and succinct) with personnel at all levels.
- Experience in managing or undertaking investigations in an employment or regulatory context, is desirable.
- Effective leader of teams in different locations with diverse cultural backgrounds
- High achieving, motivated, positive outlook, enthusiastic and solutions driven
- Ability to work autonomously but also works effectively within a team and is a positive contributor to the team
