This opportunity is located at our Saraji Mine. Saraji is owned and operated by BMA and is one of the most dynamic open cut coal operations, producing 10Mtpa of hard coking coal. Saraji Mine currently has an opportunity for a Coal Mine Supervisor, based in the Production Coal Department.
The Supervisor, reporting to the Superintendent Coal Mining will be responsible for the management and oversight of a large production crew, including ensuring the safe execution of the mine plan in accordance with operating standards, procedures and defined processes to deliver optimal safe production outcomes.
In this role your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead by example, support a diverse team and encourage a collaborative and inclusive environment ensuring a safety-first approach
- To be a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
- Manage a team of experienced operators, encourage the development of the teams’ skills to support the delivery of superior production outcomes
- Apply a continuous improvement approach to identify and improve upon our operating philosophy and processes, ensure quality and efficiency in our operations
About You
The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead positive change and support the continued development of a high performing team, have an absolute commitment to working safely, complying with all site safety standards, mine working procedures and ensure a safe and environmentally healthy workplace. In addition, will meet the following:
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, ability to foster positive working relationships and be adaptable to various communication styles
- Have outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, lead and facilitate cooperation with production personnel
- Proven ability to plan, organise and coordinate a variety of tasks within a dynamic environment
- Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, SAP and similar systems and databased
- Experience working in leadership roles, with strong people management skills is desirable
