About the Role
We are enthusiastically seeking the talents of a driven individual to join the team at WRC. As a Supervisor at BHP, we will provide you an environment where health and wellbeing are seen as a pre-requisite for safety and productivity. Reporting to the Construction Superintendent within the WA Major Projects team you will oversee and coordinate allocated project personnel (including contractors), to ensure all tasks for the Project Portfolio are executed in a safe and efficient manner. This will include works around a Village upgrade including demolition and relocation of existing buildings and construction of communication infrastructure to support a mine expansion.
In addition to this your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating visible safety leadership to promote a culture of zero harm through time in the field and endorsement of the quality of Take 5 and JHA’s;
- Ensuring a safe system of work is in place for each activity and all direct reports and contractors are appropriately aware of systems and processes;
- Demonstrating effective management of safety incidents by ensuring that incidents and hazards are identified, reported, investigated and managed;
- Co-coordinating the contractor site mobilisation process in compliance with the pre-mobilisation process;
- Supervision of contractor and sub‐contractor groups to ensure that technical and quality standards are achieved safely (ITPs , MDR Compilation);
- Monitoring and reporting actual work completion against the scheduled plan.
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Electrical Trade qualification
- Supervision experience within the mining industry is highly desirable
- Preferred experience in managing contractors
- Ability to build positive and sustaining relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work in accordance with stringent safety policies and guidelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
