About the Role - Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President BHP Operating System (BOS), the Head of BOS Deployment and Performance & Improvement – Olympic Dam will work closely with senior leadership across the Olympic Dam Asset in Roxby Downs and Functions in Adelaide. This role will be part of the BHP Olympic Dam Asset Leadership Team working in partnership with GM’s and other Functional leaders to instill a way of working across the organization that makes improvement part of what we do every day.
The role leads a team responsible for ensuring the local application of BOS Principles and Practices in a consistent and sustainable way across Olympic Dam and also leads and supports the delivery of high value high value improvement initiatives across Olympic Dam. About You - Skills & Qualifications
In this role, you will cultivate strong relationships through effective communication and consultation, positively influencing the Olympic Dam Asset Leadership Team and shape the culture to ensure a safe, productive, quality, sustainable and disciplined approach to work. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to develop and work within team-centric delivery mechanisms holding to the highest values of integrity, care for others and psychological safe teams. You will be strategic thinker with the ability to focus and prioritize critical deliverables to provide clear direction to the BOS and Asset Leadership Teams. You will bring creativity to seek, encourage and find non-traditional approaches, while being able demonstrate learning agility and the ability to connect the dots to solve problems. The successful candidate will be sharp in making sound judgement, leveraging from relevant experience and working effectively within complex projects.

Requirements
Minimum requirements that this candidate will bring are:
- Tertiary qualification in Operations, Engineering, Mining, Business Improvement, or related field required
- Demonstrable experience in the delivery and realisation of large-scale and complex improvement/transformation projects
- Experience in managing senior relationships, ideally within organisations/divisions of similar scale & complexity
- Proven people leader, with a track record of building and leading a high performing culture, physically & psychologically safe, and diverse teams across numerous locations and disciplines to deliver performance outcomes
- Continuous improvement and outcomes focused with an expertise in designing and implementing solutions leveraging analytical skills
- Experience in the Resources/Mining or similar Asset-Intensive industry is essential
Accountabilities
Your accountabilities will include:
- Continue to improve and assure the local application of BOS at Olympic Dam , ensuring that the Asset is enabled to deliver against BHPs commitment to create a sustainable improvement culture and performance mindset focused on delivering safe, stable performance and improvement at the lowest possible cost
- Work in collaboration with GM’s and Functional Leaders to ensure that BOS ways of working are embedded and helping to drive better outcomes for the Business. In doing so the role has the accountability to ensure that BOS capability in line leadership is maintained and that this is evidenced by increasing Operational Excellence Index (OEI) scores and performance outcomes enabled through this
- Drive high value improvement through working in partnership with Asset leaders to identify, plan and deliver the highest impact operational improvement projects. To achieve this, the role will oversee the formation and management of multidisciplinary teams with Asset and Functional team members and in doing so will leverage the full capabilities of BHP’s Technical Group
- Support the development and delivery of improvement initiative pipelines for the Asset so they are sufficient to achieve unit cost outcomes and other key metrics where improvement is required to meet or exceed Asset commitments
