About the Role
Reporting to the Manager NPI Operations, you will provide management and technical expertise in the management of security related issues, provisions and initiatives across BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) Village and Airport operations.
The Superintendent Village Security will liaise with village management teams to ensure the safe, efficient and cost effective delivery of security across BMA owned and contracted third party villages. This role will support the Airport Operational team with standards, processes, and systems, ensuring best practice is maintained. The successful candidate will have the option of either regional residential, FIFO or DIDO commutes on a 5/2 roster. Flexible options will be considered.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Responsible for managing the scope of security services ensuring that quality, statutory and contractual compliance is achieved.
- Identify, assess and address any security risks across our sites through sustaining up to date threat analysis assessment, operational risk assessments and security management plans.
- Own, maintain and improve Operational Security standards, processes and systems
- Support the Aviation Security and Village Operations teams.
- Analyse Security related business performance, emerging industry trends and work execution history to identify improvements, engaging relevant stakeholders to improve the Security and Emergency Management framework.
- Manage security improvement strategies and effectively manage and mitigate security risks in the village environment.
- Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Adhere to and demonstrate BHP Charter Values
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
- Be an active member of the Regional Security Working Group
About You
You will be an experienced professional with excellent communication skills, and an overriding commitment to security and risk management.
You will also have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Security & Risk Management, Law Enforcement, Military Intelligence (or equivalent experience in a security related field)
- Previous experience in Security Operations, preferably within the mining industry.
- Experience in business intelligence, threat monitoring, identifying and effectively respond to security issues and associated risks.
- Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and performance at both operational and senior management levels
