About the Role
We currently have a position for a talented and capable Security and Emergency Management Supervisor for our Nickel West Kwinana Operation.
As a Security and Emergency Management Supervisor with BHP, you will be working in a dynamic and demanding environment, which will come with its own unique challenges. Above all, you will foster a culture of care for our people and support the development and growth of our teams in order to provide the best possible service delivery to the Operational teams we support.
Reporting to the Superintendent SEM, this is an exciting time to join the team to facilitate excellence in Security and Emergency Management outcomes through your leadership, coaching, direction and expert advice. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver desired business outcomes in Security and Emergency Management and continuous improvement in the delivery of Security & Emergency Response capability through interfacing with colleagues and customers across the site and throughout HSE.
This position is offered full time, on a Monday to Friday roster, working approximately 6am – 2.30pm. Flexible work options will be considered.
Specific accountabilities will require you to:
- Directly lead and set the strategic direction for a team of Security and Emergency Services professionals including ESO’s, Security, Nurse/Paramedic and a growing contingent of volunteer Emergency Response Team (ERT) personnel;
- Resource and maintain an effective Emergency Response capability for site, aligned with the Emergency Management Plan and Emergency Response control design;
- Assume the role of On-Scene Incident Commander for all Emergency events;
- Ensure operating discipline with regard to clinical treatment guidelines, drug management, routine inspection and maintenance of critical emergency response equipment;
- Build capability in line leaders through governance and oversight of the site Incident Management Team (IMT); and
- Liaise with the site Leadership Team to develop training scenarios to verify response capability against the site risk profile.
About You
This role will suit a highly capable team player who is motivated to collaborate with site and HSE teams to ensure that everyone goes home safe every day to do the things they love.
You will also have:
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent,
- Cert IV Health Care
- Cert IV in Training and Assessing (desirable)
- Comprehensive technical understanding of risk management and/or operational processing plant experience
- Experience leading teams in a Supervisory capacity or as a Step Up Supervisor
- Involvement in forming long lasting relationships with mutual aid partners
- A strong understanding of Process Safety and Major Hazard Facility Management
- Commitment to making a positive difference in the health and safety of others
- Commitment to supporting the growth of individuals
- Current HR Australian Drivers Licence (desirable)
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work autonomously
