About the Role

This role will provide thought leadership and technical mastery in Risk Culture to conduct assurance over culture and behaviours related to risk management and internal controls. You will Support the delivery of the approved internal audit plan by providing coaching and oversight during planning, executing and delivering risk culture assurance and insights over relevant scopes areas as specific as part of the internal audit plan. This role can be located SA, QLD, WA, VIC or Singapore.
Key responsibilities include

  • Lead and deliver the Risk Culture scope of internal audits, in line with the approved annual internal audit plan, with a high degree of quality
  • Responsible for the Risk Culture resource model, ensuring necessary support to audits and other business support is secured, by assisting in the sourcing of suitable experts through established co-source to supplement the internal team where appropriate.
  • Responsible for developing capability around risk culture within the Group Risk Insurance & Audit team and across the business
  • Coach diverse stakeholder groups globally up to senior executives to uplift capability and enhance the adoption of the risk management framework.
  • Coach and provides direction for the global risk team to partner with the Assets and Functions to implement the risk framework
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise in Risk Culture to conduct assurance over culture and behaviours as related to risk management and internal controls.

About You

You will have proven experience in risk management and assurance , ideally including and a deep knowledge of professional risk, audit standards and relevant regulatory frameworks. Using your operational acumen and experience, you will be able to identify and implement practical solutions to improve risk outcomes through behavioural change aligned to our BHP Charter Values.
Not only are you passionate about improving risk and culture, you have a natural ability to coach and influence others, using these skills to provide clarity on complex cultural insights and issues and promote critical thinking to help the business to improve their understanding how behaviour impacts the control environment and the behaviours that support improvement of risk culture.
You will be someone that is able to ‘join the dots’ see ‘the bigger picture’, a capable problem solver who is innovative, creative, insightful, collaborative, and responsive to key internal stakeholders.
