About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled Auto Electricians to join our Maintenance team at Area C. This is a permanent opportunity offered of a FIFO 2/1 (1 week day shift, 1 week night shift, 1 week off) roster from Perth. The successful individuals will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and will demonstrate the following:

  • Overriding commitment to BHP Charter, health, safety, environment and sustainable development;
  • Auto Electrical diagnosing and repairing of Mobile Plant Equipment
  • Ensuring that all documentation and data entry is accurately completed;
  • Maintain a high level working knowledge of safety processes

Mining Area C, part of Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO), is one of nine iron ore mines and hubs in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Mining Area C was developed with our joint venture partner, South Korean steel maker POSCO. The mine is connected via a 39-kilometre spur line to the railway system linking mines at Newman and Yandi to ship loading facilities at Port Hedland. Mining Area C is located 120 kilometres north-west of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It consists of eight open-cut mines, three ore handling plants and one train load-out facility.

About You

You will believe in the value that maintenance can bring to an organisation.

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Auto Electrician Trade (Australian recognised) - essential
  • Current Refrigerant Handling Licence;
  • Experience working as an Auto Electrician in a mining environment (desirable);
  • A current manual drivers licence;
  • Dogging, Rigging & Forklift High Risk Licence (desirable not essential);
  • Computer literacy and/or experience in 1SAP;
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work well within a team to achieve outcomes;
