About the Role

Here at Mt Arthur Coal, we are looking for a Production Planning Engineer to join our Technical Services team to help develop safe and efficient designs to support the operational teams. This opportunity is open to candidates with all levels of experience.

Some of your responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:

  • Develop and implementation of weekly and monthly production plans in line with operational targets;
  • Direct and lead members of the production and operational mining team and ensure goal unity through concise communication;
  • Reconciliation and delivery of mine performance and rolling schedules;
  • Shovel and excavator production field guidance;
  • Optimise mine plans by providing options to maximise value through mine design;
  • Effectively communicate planning outputs to internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders to deliver key design objectives.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or similar and relevant experience in an open cut mining operation.

You will be required to liaise, negotiate and influence a range of internal and external stakeholders, so effective collaboration, stakeholder engagement and communication skills are critical.

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and value the importance of building team culture through regular collaboration with team members and key stakeholders.

A strong working knowledge of the following software packages is required:

  • Deswik and/or Vulcan
  • SPRY
  • Microsoft Office Suite
