About the Role
We currently have a number of positions for talented and capable Security and Emergency Management Supervisors for our growing Nickel West Operations.
As a Security and Emergency Management Supervisor with BHP, you will be working in a dynamic and demanding environment, which will come with its own unique challenges. Above all, you will foster a culture of care for our people and support the development and growth of our teams in order to provide the best possible service delivery to the Operational teams we support.
Reporting to the Superintendent SEM Northern Operations, this is an exciting time to join the team to facilitate outstanding Security and Emergency Management outcomes through your leadership, coaching, direction and expert advice. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver excellence in Security and Emergency Management and continuous improvement in the delivery of Security & Emergency Response capability through interfacing with colleagues and customers across the site and throughout HSE.
Full-time employment opportunities, on a FIFO roster from Perth or Residential in Leinster. Flexible work options will be considered.
Specific accountabilities will require you to:
- Directly lead and set the strategic direction for a team of Security and Emergency Services professionals including ESO’s, Security, Nurses and Paramedics, and a growing contingent of volunteer Emergency Response Team (ERT) personnel;
- Resource and maintain an effective Emergency Response capability for site, aligned with the Emergency Management Plan and Emergency Response control design;
- Assume the role of On-Scene Incident Commander for all Emergency events;
- Ensure operating discipline with regard to clinical treatment guidelines, drug management, routine inspection and maintenance of critical emergency response equipment;
- Build capability in line leaders through governance and oversight of the site Incident Management Team (IMT); and
- Liaise with the site Leadership Team to develop training scenarios to verify response capabilities against the site risk profile.
About You
This role will suit a highly capable and energetic team player who is motivated to collaborate with site and HSE teams to ensure that everyone goes home safe every day to do the things they love.
You will also have:
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent
- Cert IV Health Care or higher
- Comprehensive technical understanding of risk management and/or operational mining experience (highly prefer underground experience)
- Experience leading teams in a Supervisory capacity
- Incident Command and Control experience
- Commitment to making a positive difference in the health and safety of others
- Commitment to supporting the growth of individuals
- Current HR Australian Drivers Licence
- Good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously
Location
You will be based between Mt Keith and Leinster. Our Northern Operations mine sites are located approximately 450km North West of Kalgoorlie, West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, tennis and basketball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
