About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a role in managing the geotechnical risk of the Carrapateena operation, as we safely increase production from our deepening SLC operation while also building a brand-new block cave (and associated infrastructure). It is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience at an operating caving mine, that is also in the process of expanding to block caving.
This position is based at Carrapateena on an 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster from Adelaide.
In this role you will:

Help manage geotechnical risks, and develop and verify ground support standards during the mining of a major chamber underground (transfer chamber)

Ensure quality control & assurance (QAQC) of ground support systems

Support the operation by continued geotechnical data collection and interpretation for update of geotechnical\structural models, major infrastructure design, ground control planning and long-term development\production plans

Manage geotechnical monitoring databases

Respond to geotechnical hazards including cave, seismicity, ground control and inrush/mudrush

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive value-add projects

Communicate to key stakeholders with respect to geotechnical hazard management

Design & execute instrumentation programs to aid geotechnical hazard management

Other geotechnical role functions as required
