Box Hill Institute is seeking a Student Accessibility Support Coordinator to join our Student Life team! This is a pivotal role supporting students with disability and/or health conditions to fully access their learning and achieve success across the Institute.
Working as part of the Accessibility Liaison Service (ALS), you'll coordinate inclusive support services, lead a team of Learning Support Workers and Auslan Interpreters, and partner with students, staff, and external stakeholders to ensure reasonable adjustments are implemented in line with legislative requirements.
You'll play a key role in shaping inclusive practice across the Institute by providing expert advice, developing and overseeing Student Access Plans, and supporting staff to create accessible learning and assessment environments. This role requires strong judgement, empathy, and the ability to manage complex and sensitive matters while maintaining a student-centred approach.
This is a full-time, ongoing role based at our Elgar campus. Salary is $85,674.00 plus 12% superannuation.

About the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Student Accessibility Support Services, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, student-centred accessibility support across all Box Hill Institute campuses.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating accessibility support services and reasonable adjustments for students
- Assessing individual student needs and developing, implementing, and reviewing Student Access Plans
- Leading and supporting a team of Learning Support Workers and Auslan Interpreters
- Providing expert advice to staff on disability awareness, inclusive practice, and legislative obligations
- Managing service delivery records, budgets, and external service providers
- Contributing to accessibility initiatives, policy development, and continuous improvement
You are an experienced accessibility or disability support professional with a strong commitment to inclusion, student advocacy, and service excellence. You are confident working with diverse stakeholders and comfortable managing complex, sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
You will bring:
- A degree in Disability, Education, Health, Community Services or a related field, or a diploma/certificate with substantial relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting people with disability, preferably within education or training environments
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Disability Discrimination Act, Equal Opportunity Act)
- Experience coordinating support services and/or managing staff or casual teams
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Strong digital literacy and systems capability
