About the role:

Exciting opportunity to join Box Hill Institute on an ongoing basis as our Coordinator- Community Services!

Within this role, you will be responsible for the coordination of the Community Services programs in the Faculty of Health, Community & Life Sciences to ensure the provision of high quality, professional, client centric teaching and learning to BHI Group students including:

  • Planning, conducting, evaluating and assessing quality, client-centric teaching programs that comply with statutory, regulatory and BHI Group requirements, in conjunction with the Manager - Health and Community Services, and other Coordinators within the School
  • Managing a team of teachers for continually improving performance and high quality, effective educational outcomes
  • Providing pastoral care to ensure a successful student experience through a team-based approach. The Coordinator is expected to identify issues and problems, resolve where possible and recommend appropriate action to the Operations Manager: Community Services where relevant.

The Coordinator – Community Services is a member of the Health & Community Services team in the Faculty of Health, Community & Life Sciences. This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across the BHI Group and liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including key external stakeholders.

Note; this role is ongoing and is based at our Elgar Road Campus, Box Hill. The position is in accordance with the Management Stream of the Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Multi-Business Agreement 2009. It is full time and requires 38 hours, 5 days a week attendance during teaching terms and includes 0.2 EFT teaching duties in related courses. It also includes responsibility for relevant OH&S, and some afterhours and weekend work in support of course information evenings and Marketing events.

About You:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • AQF 6 or higher teaching qualification, including a supervised teaching practice
  • Vocational qualifications equivalent to AQF 5 or above in Community Services work
  • Current and demonstrated experience and associated industry practices
  • Experience in planning the preparation of programs and learning materials, in the identification of setting standards, and well developed skills in transferring knowledge including the ability to research, select, and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools that would ensure a successful training programs
  • Demonstrated skills in leading and managing program and strong understanding of competency based training and assessment
  • High-level ability to solve problems – seeking relevant information, liaising with stakeholders, analysing issues and proposing workable and positive solutions to Ability to implement and review the effectiveness of solutions
  • Demonstrated high-level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts
