Expression of Interest: Acting Coordinator – Sport, Fitness & Outdoor Leadership - 0.6 FTE Backfill Opportunity
About the role:
The Coordinator Sport, Fitness and Outdoor leadership manages the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative, customised, best in class vocational education and training for BHI students and clients. The coordinator(s) Sport, Fitness and Outdoor Leadership is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the sport, fitness and outdoor leadership teams including key responsibilities of:
- Managing day to day operations of the suite of courses
- Update and promote course at BHI events.
- Manage and resolve student conflict.
- Create and maintain accurate workforce planning documentation and reporting.
- Maintain staff and student rosters for, on site, offsite and blended courses.
- Develop, implement, and review support and academic progress and re-enrolment plans for students.
- Adhere to compliance standards of BHI, including reporting and compliance.
- Manage the course setup, implementation, and continuous improvement activities.
- Report on funding and actions taken to reduce rejected funding.
- Provide training to staff on BHI Processes and technologies.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement to BHI process.
- Investigate new business opportunities and manage key stakeholders.
- Support vendors and partners of long-established partnerships.
- Accountable for adhering to department KPIs and managing the actions taken to reduce risk for the department.
The coordinator manages teaching and relevant business support employees along with programs to ensure high quality innovative course materials and excellent training delivery to students. Success in the position will result in a high performing and engaged team, student achievement and improved education and employment outcomes, compliance and quality education and the development of opportunities to grow market share.

About You:
- Current Box Hill Institute Employee
- Must hold a Diploma of Vocation Education & Training or a Diploma of Training Design and Development (TAE50116, TAE50216 or similar equivalent TAE50122) or willingness to complete within agreed timeframe
- Should hold an AQF 6 or higher in a relevant qualification (preferred)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or higher
- Brings a depth and breadth of expertise in implementation and oversight in sport, fitness & Outdoor leadership operations through a track record of work experience, ongoing engagement with relevant industry, membership of related professional bodies, and representation on industry panels, engagement in conferences or seminars, or publications relevant to area
- Demonstrated experience managing and motivating a high-performance team of teaching employees, managing performance, facilitating development and providing feedback and coaching improving productivity and performance
- Proven experience in leading and managing teaching programs with a strong understanding of competency based training and assessment
- Ability to identify and drive new and different approaches and solutions that will provide benefits beyond client expectations and challenges
- Demonstrates high-level awareness of and responsiveness to people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts, is able to shape responses for people, and see issues from the perspective of others
