About the role:
An exciting opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as the Manager Service Industries!
The Manager Service Industries is responsible for leading a team of course managers, teachers, business support employees and administrative staff along with developing high quality innovative course materials and ensuring excellent training delivery of VET Qualifications, Skill Sets and Short Course programs within the service industries which currently includes, Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Arts.
Success in the position will result in a high performing and engaged team, improved student achievement and improved employment outcomes, compliance and quality education. This position will drive the development of opportunities to grow market BHI market share within the service industry sector.
The Manager Service Industries will lead the design/redesign of new programs across the portfolio with a key focus on the creation of vertical and horizontal pathways between VET and Higher Education across disciplines.
The Manager Service Industries)is a senior member of the Faculty of Creative, Business and Technology in the Educational Delivery Division. The position is responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners and employees at all levels
About You:
- A degree qualification within the service industries sector or an equivalent mix of qualifications and significant experience within the education sector in a similar role
- Current training and assessment qualifications at AQF Level 6 or above in Adult and Vocational Education. Or willingness to undertake within the first 24 months of being in the role
- Significant educational expertise plus acknowledged excellence in academic leadership and developing strategic directions
- Demonstrated experience, depth and breadth of expertise in relevant specialist area, ongoing engagement with relevant industry, membership of related professional bodies, and representation on industry panels, engagement in conferences or seminars, or relevant publications
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding and routine application of the legal and regulatory requirements for the VET/Higher Education context
- Extensive experience in managing and motivating a high performance team of teaching employees, managing performance, facilitating development, providing feedback, and coaching
