About the role:
A highly rewarding opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as a Casual Facilitator located at the Yarra Ranges Tech School, Lilydale.
The Casual Facilitator plays a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging, and innovative programs at the Yarra Ranges Tech School in Lilydale. Working with students aged 12 to 18 from local secondary schools. This role supports the development of skills and knowledge in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects and contributes to fostering a positive learning environment, inspiring student engagement, and encouraging career pathways in STEM fields.
The Yarra Ranges Tech School operates as part of Academic Governance and collaborates with schools, industry, and community partners to deliver impactful educational experiences. Programs offered are designed to align with contemporary industry practices and future-focused technologies. This position is ideal for tertiary students currently enrolled in a STEM subject, offering an opportunity to enhance their leadership and facilitation skills while contributing to innovative education delivery.
The Yarra Ranges Tech School situated at the Lilydale Lakeside campus was the first of ten technical schools to be established as part of the Victorian Government’s Technical Schools Initiative. The Tech School delivers scientific and high-tech educational self-learning discovery programs to students from 19 partner secondary schools. The Tech School provides learning programs that are linked to school curriculum, and expose students to the technology and discovery learning framework that will better equip them with knowledge of advanced technology, and provide essential employability skills to compete in a rapidly changing global economy.
Please note; this role is casual and is located in Lilydale. Hourly rate for this role is PACCT 4 $41.61.
About You:
- Completed or currently undertaking a tertiary education it at least one STEM field
- Experience using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, up-to-date and engaging course materials and lessons
- Experience in effectively managing difficult and sensitive topics and question
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, participate in group problem solving, attend team meetings, PD sessions, contribute towards continuous improvement and facilitate a positive work culture
- Active listening and problem solving with a commitment to professional communications, excellent customer service and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated high level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts
