We have an exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Manager Facilities & Building Services. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity based at our Box Hill Campus. This position reports directly to the Director Infrastructure, and sits within the Infrastructure area of the Chief Operating Officer division.
What you'll do:
- Lead the Facilities and Building Services team, managing, supporting and mentoring employees within the team.
- Ensure BHI buildings, facilities and security systems are well maintained and fit for purpose.
- Work collaboratively across the whole Infrastructure team as well as other internal and external stakeholders, including, contractors, and consultants, to ensure quality outcomes are achieved.
- Contribute to the development of key Infrastructure strategies and systems and the design of policy and operating procedures for the Facilities team
- Work collaboratively and professionally with all Infrastructure team members and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure productive and sustainable relationships are developed and maintained.
- Attract and retain high performing talent, building, managing and mentoring a diverse and high-quality workforce capable of delivering the strategic priorities of the business.

- National Police Check clearance
Qualifications and experience:
- A degree in Facilities Maintenance, Building, Project Management, Engineering or relevant Building profession, Trade or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant management, leadership role experience and/or education and training.
- Level 2 First Aid Qualification or willingness to undertake such training is desirable. If you are appointed to this position, you will be asked to provide details of a current Level 2 First Aid qualification, or you will be asked to undertake Level 2 First Aid training at the earliest available opportunity.
- Significant experience in managing a range of base building infrastructure maintenance, compliance and upgrade activities in accordance with operational plans plus the equivalent experience in a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience and commercial acumen in managing contracts, agreements and performance management of contractors.
- Proven and considerable experience in public construction and procurement of goods and services as well as extensive tendering experience.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a high performing team in achieving project outcomes and excellence in service delivery.
- High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in preparing high quality, accurate correspondence and reports to stakeholders
