About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Casual Teacher - Automotive (Licensed Vehicle Tester Training). This opportunity is based at our Box Hill Elgar Campus, but is expected to work in the City, Lilydale and across any campus of the Box Hill Institute as required. This position reports directly to the Coordinator Auto and sits within the Automotive Department area of the Faculty of Trades.
What you'll do:
- Provide Industry standard training and assessment in accordance with VicRoads Service level Agreements and BHI high quality teaching standards using innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to students
- Support student success in their courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways
This will include administrative tasks associated with training and assessment and working within a compliance framework. Occupational health and safety standards and practices must be followed at all time.
About you:
- Strong understanding of the Victorian Licenced Vehicle testing scheme and the importance of raising standards for public interest and safety
- Must be able to follow rigorous and objective examination instructions and processes.

- High level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts
- Victorian Working with Children Check clearance
- National Police Check clearance
Qualifications and experience:
- Relevant industry qualification and a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Technology or equivalent, with evidence of maintaining current industry skills and knowledge over the last 3 years
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122) or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult and Vocational Education
- Current and sound experience in the relevant field
- Ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, up-to-date and engaging course materials and lessons.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students
- Ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including unit plans and assessment tools
