About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Academic Course Manager - Commerce/Accounting. This is a part-time (0.6EFT), ongoing opportunity based at our Box Hill campus. The pro rata salary for this role is $118,182 per annum (based on 0.6EFT) exclusive of superannuation. This position reports directly to the Associate Professor - Head of Business, ICT, Commerce, Hospitality and Early Childhood, and sits within the College of Higher Education.
What you'll do:
- Lead an academically qualified teaching team
- Provide academic leadership for the Bachelor of Commerce
- Ensure high-quality, industry-relevant education aligned with regulatory and professional standards
- Oversee curriculum design, teaching delivery, assessment quality, and continuous improvement
- Support academic workforce planning, staff development, and scholarly and professional engagement

Qualifications and experience:
- PhD or Master's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a closely related business discipline.
- Professional membership with CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants ANZ, or a recognised equivalent body.
- Significant experience working within the accounting, finance, or broader commerce industry and/or in academic roles related to these disciplines, with demonstrated capacity to apply practical knowledge to teaching and program development.
- Commerce and Accounting Expertise.
- People Management.
- Strong understanding of governance, academic policy, and compliance frameworks in higher education.
