EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - Casual Auslan Interpreters
We are actively seeking Expressions of Interest to join our casual pool of Auslan Interpreters in our Student Life area. A minimum NAATI Certified Provisional or Certified Interpreter level is required and a tertiary qualification relevant to interpreting (Diploma of Interpreting or higher) and relevant, substantial experience in interpreting between Auslan and English.
This position operates across our Box Hill, Lilydale, and City Campuses. The hourly rates are as follows:
- Business Hours (8am - 6pm weekdays) - $60 per hour
- After Hours (outside of business hours) - $70 per hour
What you'll do:
The Auslan Interpreter provides professional and accurate interpreting to students whose language preference is Auslan in a way which supports a high-quality learning experience. This position will interpret in in-person classes, in online classes, and on other occasions such as meetings, excursions, enrolment processes and graduation events as required.
The Auslan Interpreter is a member of the Student Life team in the Student Experience Portfolio. This position is responsible for working professionally with all Student Life staff, BHI teachers, Learning Support Workers, Customer Service staff and students requiring Auslan interpreting services.
