About the role:
Are you organised, proactive, and ready to take on a role that keeps everything running smoothly? We're looking for an Operations Manager - Defence to make sure our training programs for Defence members are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
This is a hands-on role where you'll manage day-to-day operations, support staff, and keep things moving behind the scenes. If you're great at juggling tasks, solving problems, and working with people, this could be the perfect fit.
What you'll do:
- Lead and Empower Your Team: Provide clear direction, delegate effectively, and create a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee Operational Delivery: Ensure all Defence programs run smoothly across multiple campuses, with accurate scheduling and resource allocation.
- Drive Process Excellence: Review and refine systems for enrolments, compliance, and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage Key Projects: Support the Head of Defence in planning and delivering initiatives that enhance service quality and meet contractual obligations.
- Ensure Compliance and Standards: Monitor processes to meet legislative requirements, Defence standards, and organisational policies.
- Build Strong Relationships: Act as a trusted point of contact for Defence stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners to maintain collaboration and service excellence.
- Maintain Safety and Security: Oversee site security and workplace health and safety requirements.
This opportunity is full time, fixed term until 31 December 2026. Salary is PACCT 8 $103,461.98 plus 12% superannuation. The role is based at Simpson Barracks, Yallambie however may require travel to other BHI campuses from time to time.
About you:
We're after someone who's organised, proactive, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. Here's what will help you succeed:
- Qualification in Management, Business Administration or Leadership
- Experience within a similar role (education or defence environments desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in operations, administration, and scheduling
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using systems like Student One, Finance One, or similar platforms, and quick to learn new tools
- Experience leading a small team or coordinating staff to get things done, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Strong communication skills; able to work with a wide 082307
- Australian Citizen and currently hold or be able to obtain NV1 Level Defence Security clearance
- Have, or be willing to obtain, Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance
