About the role:
Do you love animals and want to make a real impact in pet care education? Box Hill Institute is looking for a Casual Technical Assistant - Pet Grooming to support our grooming clinic and students studying Certificate III in Animal Care Services.
What you'll do:
- Hands-on Animal Care: Provide care and support for pets attending our grooming clinic, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.
- Clinic Operations: Assist with day-to-day grooming activities, including preparing animals for grooming and supporting students during practical sessions.
- Equipment Management: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of grooming tools and supplies, ensuring everything is clean, safe, and ready to use.
- Technical Support: Offer advice and guidance to students and staff on grooming techniques and best practices.
- Safety & Compliance: Keep the grooming environment neat, tidy, and compliant with health and safety standards.
This position is casual and offers PACCT 2.4 hourly rate $ 36.43 plus superannuation.
About you:

- Pet Grooming Expertise: Recent experience as a pet groomer in a retail or private salon and relevant qualifications.
- Customer Service Skills: Ability to manage bookings, process payments, and provide friendly, professional advice.
- Organisational Skills: A methodical approach to planning and tracking tasks, ensuring smooth clinic operations.
- Problem Solver: Quick to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
- Team Player: Works well with others and contributes to a positive, collaborative environment.
- Adaptable & Flexible: Comfortable with change and open to new ideas.
- Have, or be willing to obtain, Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance
