We have an exciting opportunity to work for with one of Box Hill Institute's commercial partnerships and client, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) as a 661 Teacher Information Communications Systems. This opportunity is based within our Educational Office on-site at the Defence Force School of Signals at Simpson Barracks in Watsonia. This position reports directly to the Education & Training Support Manager (Defence) and sits within the Defence Project area of the Strategic Engagement division.
What you'll do:
- Provide high quality and engaging education to the Defence Force School of Signals students
- Develop innovative and high-quality course materials and continuous educational improvement initiatives to the students
- Support student success in their courses and thereby improve their employability and/or educational pathways
- Ensure BHI compliance requirements are met, and quality education is delivered to students
- Assimilate to the specific educational environment standards, conduct and expectations of Box Hill Institute and Defence
- Deliver scheduled teaching requirements
Salary range from 1 January 2026 aligns to the current MEA. L1.1 - L3.5 $83,367 - $126,983 (dependent on qualifications/experience & time fraction)*

- Currently hold or be able to obtain an NV1 Level Defence Security clearance
- Currently hold or able to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check
- Holds a current National Police Check or able to obtain one
Qualifications and experience:
- Current and sound experience in the Information Technology, System Administration, Network Administration and/or Cyber Security field
- Expert Knowledge in Windows Server is preferred in the following areas: SCCM, PowerShell, Skype for Business, SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, Hyper-V, SQL Database. (desirable)
- Cisco Networking Academy Certifications (IT Essentials, CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, CME etc) (desirable)
- Microsoft Certifications (MCT/MCSE/MCSA/MCP) (desirable)
- CompTIA suite of products (CompTIA Tech+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Projects +, CompTIA Data +, CompTIA CySA+ etc (desirable)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110, TAE40116 or TAE40122) or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult Education (desirable)
- Relevant industry qualifications and an AQF 5 or higher vocational qualification (desirable)
- Ability to design and deliver logical, succinct, up-to-date and engaging course materials and lessons.
- Experience using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students (desirable)
- Ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including unit plans and assessment tools
