About the role:
Join Box Hill Institute in an exciting opportunity as our Casual Lecturer (Music) where you'll play a key role in shaping the future of education.
Box Hill Institute's Music Higher Education department requires one or more casual employees with appropriate skills and qualifications to teach in any of the following subject areas: saxophone, flute, piano, music business, musicianship and performance.
You will deliver high quality music lessons to students studying in the Bachelor of Music Industry.
Reporting to the Academic Course Manager this position is part of the Music & Creative Industries team within the Higher Education College.

About you:
- Teaching experience is preferred and a passion for sharing knowledge and experience is essential.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the faculty.
- Relevant industry qualifications or experience and an AQF level 8 or higher qualification.
- Ideally you will have a post-graduate qualification.
Performance skills
- Advanced musical and technical experience is required to instruct students in technique, teach nuanced interpretation across a wide range of styles, and improvise and interpret scores for performance. Additional skills in voice, music theory, songwriting, and contemporary music performance are desirable.
To be considered for this position, you must hold, or be willing to obtain, a Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance.
