About the role

The Data Engineer is responsible for system analysis, design, development and maintenance for the organisation's Data and Analytics services on Microsoft Azure iPaaS. You will liaise with BAC’s Business users to develop Power BI reports, Data Pipelines and Analytics Storage Solutions in line with correct implementation practices. In addition, this role will also provide technical expertise to the implementation, administration, maintenance and support of these services and services to meet the current and future needs.

Some key areas of focus include:

  • Development and support of the Power BI environment including reports, dashboards and Golden Datasets.
  • Develop data integration and storage solutions, including Azure Synapse Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Logic App based integrations and service orchestrations.
  • Development and Operation of Data Factory pipelines to extract load and transform data for subsequent data analytics.
  • Work with large sets and volumes of data, strong problem-solving skills. Expert user of Excel, Power BI experience working with Big Data platforms.

About you

You will ideally be tertiary qualified with several years of relevant experience. This should include:

  • Expert level in the development and deployment of Power BI, DAX programming and Power Query (M)
  • Proven experience with Azure iPaaS
  • Development experience with Power BI, Microsoft ETL tools and SQL Server based Data Warehouse
  • Experience with some, or all, of the following Microsoft Azure components – Machine Learning, Logic Apps, Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Cosmos DB and API Management
  • High level RDBMS and SQL knowledge
  • Agile and DevOps experience.
  • Hands on experience designing Data Lake and Data Warehouse analytics storage solutions
