An exciting, fast paced and interesting position has become available as Facilities Controller to look after our Commercial Buildings across Brisbane Airport precinct!
In this varied role, you will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing lifecycle maintenance activities for our Commercial Buildings (approximately 60 altogether) are carried out.
Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that assets are safe and compliant in line with respective standards, to ensure the organisation comply with all legislative requirements.
Key deliverables associated with this role include asset, contractor and cost management, including building strong stakeholder relationships.
This role is based at our International Terminal with travel across our precinct.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include
- Coordinate the effective and efficient maintenance of the building facilities assets across a number of maintenance disciplines including but not limited to:
o Buildings Fire safety systems;
o HVAC assets;
o Electrical assets;
o Hydraulic assets;
o Vertical transport;
o Building structure, fixtures and fittings;
- Continually monitor and review maintenance plan activities, providing progress reports on works.
- Contribute to the development of asset management plans and whole of life Capex plans for compliance services including assisting with yearly budget preparation for operating and capital expenditure of Commercial Buildings assets.
- Prepare and continuously update 20-year Capex forecasts for building asset replacement.
- Facilitate condition audits and provide reports on asset and equipment for inclusion in 3-5 year plan.
- Assist to ensure information for relevant assets in BAC owned or leased buildings are added or removed from CMMS (Maximo) when an alteration occurs.
- Foster and maintain communication and collaborative partnerships with contractors and applicable external agencies.
Experience and qualifications
Essential
- High degree of computer literacy in Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerised Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) Maximo.
- Prior experience working in Maintenance Management / Engineering.
- High degree of ability in technical and report writing.
- Proven experience working from building design and as constructed drawings.
- Qualification/s in Facility Management or a building related trade.
- Contractor and contract management experience.
- Experience in administering Maintenance Service contract works.
- Engineering qualification in a Building Services discipline.
