Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our welcoming, hardworking Tech team!
Reporting to the Advanced Analytics and Information Manager, as Data Engineer you will responsible for system analysis, design, development and maintenance for the organisation's Data and Analytics services on Microsoft Azure iPaaS.
You will liaise with BAC’s Business users to develop Power BI reports, Data Pipelines and Analytics Storage Solutions in line with correct implementation practices.
In addition, this role will also provide technical expertise to the implementation, maintenance and support of these services to meet the current and future needs of our organisation.
This is a permanent full-time role based at our Skygate Head Office.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include
- Development and support of the Power BI environment including reports, dashboards and Golden Datasets
- Develop data integration and storage solutions, including Azure Synapse Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Logic App based integrations and service orchestrations.
- Development and Operation of Data Factory pipelines to extract load and transform data for subsequent data analytics
- Work with large sets and volumes of data, strong problem-solving skills. Expert user of Excel, Power BI experience working with Big Data platforms
- Preparation and storage of data for Advanced Analytics applications including Machine Learning
- Ownership of the Purview Data Governance Platform including user onboarding and accountability for Data Quality within the Power BI environment
- Maintain technical support documentation including formal specifications and sample code/applications
Experience and qualifications
Essential
- Expert level in the development and deployment of Power BI, DAX programming and Power Query (M)
- Experience with Power BI, Microsoft ETL tools and SQL Server based Data Warehouse
- Experience with some, or all, of the following Microsoft Azure components – Machine Learning, Logic Apps, Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, Cosmos DB and API Management
- High level RDBMS and SQL knowledge
- Agile and DevOps experience.
- Hands on experience designing Data Lake and Data Warehouse analytics storage solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business or related field
- Experience with Purview or other Data Governance platform
- Development of Advanced analytics models and Machine Learning
- Model development using TM1
- Microsoft certifications
