Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is seeking an outstanding Head of Procurement to lead an excellent team in driving forward our procurement strategy throughout a transformational period for the organisation!
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, as Head of Procurement, you will maintain and develop processes and systems for effective procurement and post-contract management, pertaining to the range of activities in place across our airport precinct, ensuring compliance, optimising performance and maximising value for money.
You will provide expert procurement advice and support to the senior executive team, audit committee, and other senior management committees in ensuring the best possible outcomes for BAC. Additionally, you will be responsible for sourcing and managing strategic supply contracts, leveraging economies of scale and addressing distinct organisational
needs.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Set the direction for the Procurement team through the development and implementation of initiatives that clearly align to the Group business plan and BACs strategy.
• Provide leadership and support to the team ensuring team members are highly engaged and empowered to deliver to enable delivery against the Group business plan.
• Lead high level negotiations with procurement partners and suppliers and establish collaborative stakeholder and strategic supplier relationships to maximise the organisation’s influence and to develop and implement procurement
arrangements and initiatives that deliver optimal value for money outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement, best value and quality improvements within the team and departments in challenging existing practices and actively seek ways to achieve better outcomes, contributing to ensure key performance and financial targets are met and corrective action taken where necessary.
• To leverage resources across all boundaries to support business goals, bringing all expertise necessary to address the corporation’s challenges to safeguard against contractual and commercial risk.
• Establish key performance indicators and qualitative and quantitative metrics to capture, report and evaluate the benefit and performance of all procurement activity and lead improvement planning and implementation in consultation with key stakeholders and suppliers.
• To report to the Executive Leadership Team and respective committees as may be required from time to time to provide up to date status reports on procurement to include development, demonstrate value for money and compliance.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such Business or Law.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Strong working knowledge of procurement processes.
• Experience of tendering and managing high value contracts.
• Extensive expertise, having operated at a strategic level with a strong track record of success in delivering financial savings.
• Experience of sourcing and contract management of corporate categories such as IT, Facilities and Project Services.
• Previous experience of conducting business process re-engineering.
• Experience of implementing/working under category management based approaches.
