Build your career in Wealth Management with Canaccord Genuity

We’re looking for a Financial Planner to join our established Melbourne Wealth Management team, working closely with our advisers to develop strategic advice solutions tailored to their clients.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has built a strong foundation in financial advice and is ready to take the next step in their career. You might be early in your career, having recently completed your Professional Year or financial planning qualifications, or be looking for an opportunity to build greater exposure to clients and strategic advice.

What’s most important to us is that you’re confident engaging with people, curious, commercially minded and keen to keep learning.

You’ll join an established team that includes another Financial Planner and work alongside experienced advisers, giving you plenty of opportunity to build your technical capability, develop your confidence and broaden your experience.

The opportunity

As a Financial Planner, you’ll work closely with our advisers to understand their clients’ circumstances and help develop tailored strategies to achieve their financial goals.

Depending on your experience, you’ll have the opportunity to build your capability across:

  • Developing and modelling financial planning strategies
  • Supporting strategic advice across superannuation, investments, retirement planning, taxation and wealth transfer
  • Conducting research, analysis and financial modelling to support advice recommendations
  • Preparing and reviewing Statements of Advice and related documentation
  • Working closely with advisers to understand their clients and develop appropriate advice solutions
  • Building your knowledge of legislative and regulatory developments impacting financial advice
  • Participating in client discussions and developing your confidence in presenting and communicating advice
  • Contributing to the continued growth of our Melbourne Wealth Management business

About you

You don’t need to have years of experience behind you. We’re looking for someone with the foundations to succeed and the motivation to keep developing.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A genuine interest in financial planning and helping clients achieve better financial outcomes
  • Relevant financial planning qualifications, or be nearing completion
  • Experience within financial advice, whether through your Professional Year, an associate or paraplanning role, or the early stages of your advisory career
  • The confidence to communicate with clients and build strong professional relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and an organised approach
  • Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to ask questions
  • The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your work
  • A collaborative and approachable style and the ability to build strong relationships

You don’t need to tick every box. If you’re excited about building your career in financial advice and believe you could bring something valuable to our team, we’d encourage you to apply.

Why join Canaccord Genuity?

At Canaccord Genuity, you’ll have the opportunity to build your career surrounded by experienced people who can help you develop.

You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of client needs and advice strategies while developing your technical capability, client confidence and understanding of the wealth management industry.

As you grow, there is scope to take on greater responsibility, deepen your client exposure and continue developing your career within our Wealth Management business.

Some of our benefits include:

  • Structured training, mentoring and on-the-job development
  • Study assistance to support your professional development
  • Paid parental leave, volunteer leave and wellbeing initiatives
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Flexible working arrangements and a supportive team culture
  • Access to a global organisation with offices across five continents
  • An inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equity and career growth
