Company Description
Are you ready to be a big part of something big?
At carsales, we’re all about making buying and selling a great experience. Since 1997, we’ve been evolving with the new economy to help people choose how they move today and tomorrow.
When it comes to your career, we want to offer meaningful opportunities that empower you to make a lasting impact. But for that to happen, we strive to feel small - small enough to stay agile, learn across teams, and connect authentically with each other.
With a vision to be the global leader in online vehicle marketplaces, we’re transforming how people buy and sell across the world. We discover new ideas and bring them to life. We continue to grow, and we continue to evolve, and we’re not afraid to take bold steps to get there.
As our new Marketing Automation Specialist, you'll be the driving force behind the marketing touchpoints that power our B2B business — from building and managing lifecycle programs for Nexgate and Ignition, our B2B SaaS platforms, to running our B2B media program, for our media partners
What’s on offer:
- A place where you can move your career forward, where you’ll be continuously backed to make new ideas happen, and the chance to do work that makes real, significant impact in the world.
- We’re proud to be recognised as one of Australia’s Best Workplaces™ by Great Place to Work®, a Family Friendly Workplace and a WORK180 endorsed employer for women.
- The support of a highly engaged, high-performing team including a leadership team that you’ll actually have face time with.
- 24 weeks paid parental leave for primary caregivers, four weeks paid secondary caregivers leave and paid family & fertility planning leave.
Job Description
What’ll you’ll be doing
You'll bring deep technical experience across marketing data and technology, with the ability to build personalised B2B SaaS lifecycle journeys end to end — getting close to the audience, the segments, the product moments and the touchpoints, and tracking what success looks like at every step.
Things move fast here, and we're looking for someone who enjoys working that way. You'll work in a cross-functional team built around an audience and the business metrics that audience drives, alongside experts in paid media, our SEO and GEO specialists, and the Growth Analytics and Experimentation team. We're also in the process of onboarding Braze, so any experience with it will put you ahead.
- Own the B2B SaaS lifecycle journeys behind Nexgate and Ignition — from onboarding and adoption through to engagement, retention, optimisation and results
- Own segmentation, campaign setup, QA and delivery — accurate, on time, every time
- Own the media partner send schedule, taking advertiser campaigns from brief to send, including segment build/refinement and reporting.
- Get into the data to build segments and audiences, shaping lifecycle communications from the ground up
- Turn customer, product and campaign insights into personalised, multi-channel communications that feel timely rather than templated
- Develop lifecycle communications, including newsletters for different audiences, that people actually want to open
- Set the testing agenda for your journeys: form the hypothesis, run the experiment, act on the results, and share learnings with the team
- Drive CX optimisation across the journeys and touchpoints that matter most to your audience
Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Digital Growth Strategist to connect lifecycle with the rest of the growth mix, pulling in Growth Analytics and Experimentation to sharpen tracking and output - Partner with B2B and Product Marketing to support go-to-market campaigns for new products and features across the Nexgate and Ignition roadmap
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives, such as partnering with Product on lifecycle data pipelines, CRM on automation triggers, or Sales on enablement and handover moments
- Track performance against team business metrics, and proactively surface the next growth opportunity before it's asked for
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
- Deep hands-on experience in marketing automation — you've built and shipped, not just briefed
- A track record of building and managing B2B SaaS lifecycle programs end to end — onboarding, adoption, engagement and retention — with the results to show for them
- Comfort with APIs, webhooks and platform integrations
- Experience working with CRM and sales automation is highly valued, especially where lifecycle data, sales activity and customer touchpoints need to work together
- Real fluency with segmentation, personalisation and testing, and the judgement to know which lever to pull and when
- You can interrogate a dashboard, pull the insight out of it and make the case for what to do next
- The collaboration and stakeholder skills to bring teams on the journey with you, in an environment where business metrics are shared, not owned by one function
- Meticulous attention to detail across campaign setup and QA
- Curiosity that shows up as action. You chase the insight, then chase the result it points to, then go again
- Hands-on experience in Braze is ideal, particularly given our current SFMC-to-Braze migration — Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar platforms also count
- SQL experience is a plus — if you can read, write or debug queries
