At carsales, we’re all about making buying and selling a great experience. For 25 years we’ve been evolving with the new economy to help people choose how they move today and tomorrow.

We started out with the idea of digitising print classifieds back in 1997 when we thought that ‘this internet thing might actually be starting to take off’. Fast forward to today and we have close to 800 team members across Australia and New Zealand and we’re part of CAR Group – an ASX 100 business and a global leader in digital marketplaces across Oceania, Asia and The Americas.

carsales has always provided a flexible working culture, however when Autonomy to Choose launched it opened up many more opportunities for us as individuals and also for families, like my own. My husband and I moved from Brisbane to Melbourne in 2016 to experience living in a different city. Fast forward nearly seven years and a lot of things have changed in our lives, including the pitter patter of little feet. With varying opportunities arising back in our home town and the stage of life we were in, we made the decision to move back home. For someone who enjoyed going into the office five days a week, it was a hard decision knowing that would not be the case moving forward. However, knowing I had the support of my manager, my team and carsales made the decision that much easier. And with the technology available to us today, it's business as usual. The only things that have changed are we now have family support around us to help us in times of need (we can go on date nights!) and our daughter can get to know her grandparents.
