Position Description:

We are looking for a Data Business Analyst to join a large-scale transformation programme, playing a key role in data migration, governance, and shaping data-driven solutions in a global environment.
Flexible work is available including hybrid work from client’s site at Port Melbourne
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Drive discovery to define data requirements, business rules, and data flows
- Engage stakeholders to understand data challenges and shape effective solutions
- Support data governance including standards, ownership, and processes
- Translate business needs into clear data requirements for architecture and delivery
- Collaborate with architects and delivery teams to support migration design
- Facilitate workshops and align business and technology teams
- Support backlog creation, user stories, and delivery readiness
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Experience as a Business Analyst in data transformation or migration programmes
- Strong skills in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and workshop facilitation
- Understanding of data governance, data flows, and business rules
- Ability to translate complex business needs into structured data requirements
- Experience working with architects or technical teams
- Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Excel, Jira, Confluence, Visio, Power BI (or similar)
- Exposure to data platforms or cloud environments (e.g. Azure, AWS) is a must
- Experience within retail, healthcare, or other customer-centric industries
- Comfortable working in evolving environments
