We have a newly created opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to work with one of our key Telco clients. Working as part of our client’s IT operations team, you will be involved in all aspects of IT support including the administration and operations of Windows, Linux, VMware and storage environments.
Building on your strong Microsoft technical skills you will get the opportunity to deepen your current abilities, in addition to learning new technologies. Training and certification opportunities are available, as part of our strong learning culture.
Flexible work is available including hybrid work from home/ client site in Melbourne.
Your future role and responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise and deep skills in the administration and operations of Windows, Linux, VMware and storage environments
Design, implement, troubleshoot, support, and upgrade IT systems
Provide technical input and expertise. Advise on known issues and possible pitfalls
Provide advice and experience in cloud technologies
Participate in ACSC Essential 8 uplift activities and maintain essential 8 Maturity levels
Provide BAU IT systems administration and incident resolution
Translate business requirements into solutions
Build relationships and help to contribute to positive client satisfaction
Pro-actively manage client expectations
Participate in the on-call roster.
Experience required to be successful in this role:
Deep subject matter expertise in the following technologies:
Microsoft (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, SQL Server 2016, DFS, WSUS, Certificate Services, SCCM), Office365, Microsoft Azure
VMWare ESX7.x and SRM
Symantec AV or equivalent Antivirus solution
EMC storage and Veeam backup
Linux (Rocky 9 and CentOS highly desirable)
Splunk and Rapid7
RSA (SecureID)
Experience and understanding of Azure services desirable;
In addition to the above you will also require:
Clear and personable communication skills
Strong problem management / trouble shooting skills
