These opportunities are expected to involve the ongoing development, modernisation and sustainment of secure applications supporting Defence operations, including application integration, technical uplift, feature enhancement and cyber security improvements.

If you're looking to apply modern technologies to complex national security challenges while building a long-term career, we'd like to hear from you.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
As part of CGI's Software & Digital Engineering team, you'll help design, develop, enhance and sustain secure enterprise web applications supporting Defence and National Security outcomes.
Depending on your experience and the project you join, you may be involved in:
- Full-stack software development using Angular, TypeScript and associated web technologies.
- Development and enhancement of enterprise web applications and user interfaces.
- Backend development, API design and systems integration.
- Application maintenance, remediation and ongoing sustainment.
- Modernisation and technical uplift of existing applications.
- Implementation of secure software development practices.
- Identification and remediation of application vulnerabilities.
- DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and development automation.
- Unit testing, integration testing and automated quality assurance.
- Working within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Technical documentation, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
Senior Developers may also provide technical leadership, support solution design, mentor other developers and contribute to architectural and engineering decisions.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
We're interested in hearing from Software Developers with experience in the design, development and sustainment of enterprise web applications.
Key skills and experience:
- Commercial experience developing applications using Angular and TypeScript.
- Full-stack software development experience, including frontend and backend technologies.
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and web services.
- Understanding of modern enterprise application architectures.
- Experience with software testing, debugging and performance optimisation.
- Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
- Experience working within Agile software delivery teams.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
The following would also be highly regarded:
- Experience delivering software capability within Defence, Defence Industry or National Security environments.
- Experience working within secure or classified environments.
- Experience with DevSecOps, application security and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience modernising or sustaining complex enterprise applications.
- Exposure to data integration, migration or transformation activities.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
- Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring other developers.
We're open to candidates at different experience levels, including mid-level and senior developers.
These are permanent, full-time positions based primarily in Canberra, with flexible working arrangements subject to client and project requirements.
