Who You Are
You are a well-respected sales leader with extensive experience leading teams, technical acumen in solutions for Service Provider, Private Sector or Public Sector sales, specifically Optical and IP experience, passionate about nurturing an inclusive and diverse workforce and organization culture, supporting our customers and partners and strategically driving outcomes. You are an inspiring leader who drives operational excellence in a very dynamic sales marketplace. You are adept in scaling and accelerating sales and performance of a globally dispersed, highly specialized technical sales team across various routes to market and productively collaborating internally with field and regional sales teams in a unified motion. Strong knowledge and experience of driving Routing, Optical and Automation growth and market share with a focus on use-cases, differentiated architectures and key industries.
You have proven ability to build trust with customers and partners, having led technology sales organizations and initiatives from the front and having established long term executive and industry relationships. A compassionate and energetic leader, coach, and mentor, able to build internal ecosystems and successful teams, working with a variety of technologies and stakeholders, and therefore excellent teamwork, leadership, collaboration, and consultative skills. You are very experienced and comfortable in a highly effective matrix organization and driving interlock and cross-functional efforts across Sales, Engineering, Product Management, Finance and Marketing. Your interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills evoke passion, energy, tenacity, and confidence to work across all Cisco and with a variety of key stakeholders.
What You Will Do
Cisco seeks an experienced technical sales leader to drive and manage Routing & Optical specialists sales within the EMEA and APJC Regions with multinational Service Providers, Public Sector and Enterprises to help in redefining and transforming their network architectures, by utilizing Cisco Networking's world-class Routing, Optics, Optical, Routed Optical Networking, and Automation products, technologies and solutions. You should excel in presenting business justifications, technical architectures, solutions and products to key decision-makers. As a trusted advisor internally and externally, you will craft architectures and configure products to transform customers’ business and network.
You will manage, support, develop and coach a worldclass technical specialists team. You will provide professional development opportunities, coaching and advocacy for your team. You will own driving sales/market growth strategies for the MIG portfolio business by leading the EMEA & APJC global specialists team concentrating on New Product Introduction (NPI), competitive wins and transformative Routing & Optical solutions. You'll collaborate with executive leaders and develop incredible relationships with colleagues and executive customers and stakeholders. You’ll prepare for tomorrow’s successes by bringing the voice of the customer and field with added insights to help guide the direction of the portfolio, collaborate with our best-in-class Business Units, and provide sales enablement leadership and advocacy throughout the region. You’ll help formulate and execute strategies to grow the business, take market share and help drive the expected revenue and growth plan.
Who You’ll Work With
You will manage a highly experienced and geographically dispersed specialists team across EMEA and APJC, reporting to the Global Director of Routing & Optical Specialists. You should possess and build strong Cisco Networking Business Unit relationships and be able to successfully navigate through Cisco's business groups (Services, Marketing, Architecture and Development Teams) and field sales teams, and provide forecasting and competitive guidance.
You have a centralized hybrid internal and customer-facing role showcasing Cisco Optics, Routing, Optical and Routed Optical Networking products and solutions. You will form relationships with our customer’s key decision-makers and Cisco Sales and Account Teams and provide leadership to appropriately drive the technical/architecture adoption strategy with your CTO counterparts and work alongside your Strategy & Planning, Peoples & Communities and Finance Partners.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead EMEA & APJC Routing & Optical Global Specialists concentrating on network and business transformation, New Product Introduction & competitive wins
- Maintain, retain, and recruit a highly effective sales team by providing ongoing coaching, guidance, development, rewards, recognition, and feedback
- Instill a collaborative team-oriented culture that values diversity of people, background, culture and perspectives
- Oversee the development and execution of people strategies, talent management, enabling Cisco’s mission to build an inclusive future for all
- Help develop and implement a global strategic vision, alignment and long-term growth plan, with a focus on growing market share for strategic solutions, software and revenue
- Leverage strong leadership experience to lead through business transformation and market transitions
- Ensure our business model supports technology adoption, transformation, customer happiness and business outcomes
- Build strong relationships and engage with C-suite leaders, industry experts and customers
- Financial hygiene through ongoing forecasting, state of business, risks, etc.
- Ensure strong interlock with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Experience, along with regional and theatre sales leaders, Cisco’s partner organization, and other key collaborators
- Ensure governance and compliance across geographies
Skills/Qualifications:
- 10+ years related Cisco or industry sales experience especially in Routing, Switching, Optical and Optics
- Coaching and development of team members, sales management a plus, highly proactive
- Advanced knowledge in Optical, Routing, Access, Automation, Orchestration, Data Centre Technologies
- Excellent written, oral communication, listening and presentation skills, should be comfortable presenting to both small and large audiences.
- English is a pre-requisite; additional languages are a plus
- Data/telecom technical school and University. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent
- Willing to travel globally
- Understanding of the Service Provider Business
- Understand customer business drivers and how to map these to a customer network platform
- Can foster and has fostered long-term, trusted relationships with Service Provider, Web, Public Sector and Enterprise customers
- Understand networking industry, including keeping updated on products and solutions
- Can recognize industry shifts in their early stages, helping Cisco to fulfill the market needs of today whilst creating markets through the innovative use of Cisco and related technologies.
