About the Project:

Parklife Metro JV is leading the delivery of the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport project, a landmark transport initiative that will link St Marys to Bradfield and seamlessly connect with the new Western Sydney Airport.

This visionary project driven by a joint venture between Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild includes the construction of six new stations, 12 state-of-the-art metro trains, advanced rail systems, and a modern stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills.

As the largest public-private partnership (PPP) ever awarded in New South Wales, this $5 billion project is set to redefine the future of Greater Western Sydney by enhancing connectivity and driving economic growth. The Opportunity:

Employed by Webuild, Parklife Metro is seeking a Contract Manager to join our team based at St Marys, Orchard Hills or Luddenham.

As Contract Manager, you will provide commercial leadership across the full contract lifecycle, from procurement and contract formation through to delivery, claims management and final account. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced commercial professional who is comfortable working closely with construction and delivery teams in a complex major infrastructure environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercial and contractual administration of allocated subcontract packages in accordance with project requirements and contractual obligations
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Managers and other project stakeholders
  • Lead the preparation, negotiation and administration of subcontract agreements, scopes of work, amendments and related contractual documentation
  • Develop and implement appropriate commercial and contractual strategies for allocated packages
  • Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, scope, program and commercial requirements
  • Lead the assessment and management of subcontractor progress claims, variations, extensions of time, delay claims and other contractual entitlements
  • Review and respond to contractual notices and correspondence and ensure appropriate notices are issued within required timeframes
  • Identify, assess and manage commercial, contractual and financial risks and opportunities
  • Lead negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers on commercial and contractual matters
  • Manage the resolution of contractual issues, claims and disputes, escalating matters where appropriate
  • Lead the commercial close-out and finalisation of subcontract accounts
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, procurement, construction, planning, finance and project controls teams to ensure commercial matters are effectively managed

Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commerce, Business or a related discipline
  • Significant experience in contract management within major construction or infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated experience with variations, claims, extensions of time, delay, commercial negotiations and final accounts
  • Strong experience managing construction or subcontract agreements throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to lead commercial negotiations and resolve contractual issues
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
