About the role
We have an exciting new opportunity for a newly created Meat Servery Specialist role within our Glen Waverley store.
The Meat Servery Specialist will be responsible for:
- helping customers with cheese selections and pairings,
- sales generation within the department,
- maintaining food safety and quality control,
- merchandising of specialty cheese products,
- organising and running events both internally and externally.
About you and your skills
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced customer facing environment
- Direct/indirect leadership experience as you’ll need to lead, coach and develop your team to meet sales targets, cost control and rostering requirements
- To maintain excellent department standards including monitoring stock, rotation routines, wastage, shrinkage and quality control
- To always look to simplify processes and adhere to strict audit, food safety and compliance standards
- To drive a one team culture which celebrates success and puts our team members health, safety and wellbeing first
- To delight our customers with an outstanding shopping experience
- A passion for food – especially cheese! – and an of course an enthusiasm for customer service.
- Day to day responsibility for stocking and ordering cheese inventory — cutting, wrapping, pricing cheese, and general care.
- Additionally, the Meat Servery Specialist is responsible for maintaining an organized back stock area, The Meat Servery Specialist should stay informed on all current cheese information including regions, different milk types, ages, styles, terminology, current trends, and help to disseminate this information to customers and other team members.
