Commercial is a large but close-knit group. We bring diversity of thought, backgrounds and experience to every business unit at Coles Supermarkets, Liquor and Express. And we pride ourselves on the partnerships we build, new ideas we develop and how passionately we work on convenient, healthy solutions for our customers.
The Commercial Strategy and Capability team exists within the Commercial Excellence and Strategy Business Unit to drive strategic outcomes within the Commercial team. We're a small but mighty team that provides the conduit between the Corporate Plan and the broader commercial function. We work collaboratively across the BU's to land strategic initiatives and deliver upon our priorities, including through our Strategic Category Planning Process, our Category Acceleration function, and our BU Academy to build capabilities for our Category Teams.
About the role
The primary purpose of the role is to help shape and drive our Commercial Strategy team efforts to achieve the following: Support the Head of and Strategy Manager in translating our Commercial Strategy into a prioritised and sequenced acceleration roadmap. Unearth unique and value driven insights across our internal and external environments that support the identification and development of winning strategies
You’ll also:
- Conduct high quality quantitative and qualitative analysis to solve complex, strategic problems across the business
- Synthesise analysis to draw conclusions and provide recommendations to the business to enable execution against strategic initiatives
- Provide key stakeholders with the 'so what' insights to enable effective decisions for the business
- Identify the most attractive opportunities for application of the Corporate Strategy to Commercial Strategy
About you and your skills
- Experience working in high growth, ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Proven experience in complex analytical problem solving (eg hypothesis based problem solving)
- High level of proficiency using appropriate analytical tools & techniques
- Experience presenting to senior business stakeholders
- Previous experiences working with cross-functional stakeholder groups
- Excellent detailed written communications when providing data insights back to the business
