About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Development Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving transformational change in supplier performance, embedding commercial excellence and supporting cost management initiatives. Additionally, they will ensure compliance with grocery code obligations, and have experience working in either the retail or FMCG industries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive the transformation of supplier performance by identifying, assessing and executing opportunities for improvement
- Embed commercial excellence across the organization by leading the development and implementation of best practices, including pricing strategies and contract negotiations
- Support cost management initiatives by identifying and implementing opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Ensure compliance with grocery code obligations and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives
- Develop and implement key performance indicators to measure success and progress toward goals
About you and your skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial development role with a focus on supplier performance, cost management, and compliance
- Proven track record of success in driving transformational change and improving supplier performance
- Experience in the retail or FMCG industries
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
