Commercial is a large but close-knit group. We bring diversity of thought, backgrounds and experience to every Business Unit at Coles Supermarkets, Liquor and Express. About the role
We are currently looking for experienced Senior Category Managers to join our commercial team here at Coles. Joining a leading Australian Retailer, you will have genuine impact in the work you will do. As senior member within our varied category teams you will bring together varied stakeholders across the business such as operations, supply chain and marketing to deliver the customer plan.
You’ll be responsible for managing complex, fast paced categories and accountable for growing profitable category sales by satisfying our customer’s needs, growing market share in-line with strategic goals.
You'll also be responsible to:
- Lead, coach, mentor and develop a small team of direct reports
- Deliver on sales, profit, and market share. This includes the management and collaborative partnership with varied senior stakeholders across different departments
- Build strong supplier partnerships to deliver innovation, availability, and value to our customers
- Execution of the category's pricing, promotion, range selection, layout development and product development

You'll also need:
- A thorough understanding of managing large categories and delivering a clear customer focused plan
- Experience managing complex supplier relationships
- Proven leadership experience to effectively manage a team and champion team objectives
- Outstanding ability to influence, negotiate, and developed stakeholder management skills
- A dynamic style, to operate in a fast paced, customer-driven retail environment
- Strong financial acumen within a highly commercial environment
