As a Data Engineer in production support environment, your day to day responsibilities will include automating data pipelines and solving L1 support issues. Our production environment is based on Teradata, Unix and Hadoop (Big data)

As part of the CDAO Operations team, we manage a portfolio of critical applications and data services used by internal and external customers. Our teams provide Level 1 technical support for all platforms, ETL and systems within CDAO remit.

We're responsible for CommBank's key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and Decisioning. We work across the Teradata Group Data Warehouse, Hadoop Big Data Platform, Pega Decisioning, Spark and Ab Initio ETL.

What will set you up for success?

This part of the team is focussed on operations support improvements, critical incident support and managing stakeholder engagement to ensure the best outcomes

• You're constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex data problems
  
• You're capable of moving from fast, break-fix to in-depth analysis and putting together disparate clues to help drive root cause analysis
  

• You're fully versed in ITIL, particularly focussed on incident resolution and corrective actions
  

We are interested in hearing from people who:

• Are experienced in operations of Big Data, Decisioning, Visualisation and Data warehouse flows
  
• Have a natural drive to educate, communicate and influence a large operations team to drive better outcomes
  
• Comfortable in representing operations during critical incident management communications with senior stakeholders
  
• Have an eye for detail towards issues in production environment and be able to implement break fix solutions.
  

Tech skills

• We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;
  
• Hadoop / Teradata platform, using Spark and/or Ab Initio ETL frameworks
  
• Solid SQL skills in an operations environment
  
• Solid understanding of production support environments
  
• Experience writing scripts in UNIX / LINUX environments highly regarded
  
• Pega systems knowledge (Good to have)
