We’re looking for our brand new National Continuous Improvement Manager to join our newly structured Operations Support team reporting to our General Manager Process Transformation..
The Process Transformation team lead the initiatives and projects across all business units within the ecosystem, including successful delivery of concept build through to implementation, unifying teams and stakeholders and strong relationships with key stakeholders within Store Operations and across other functions at National and Zone level to ensure collaboration, engagement and awareness.
About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
This new leadership role owns the continuous improvement forum agenda and prioritisation of projects from other business units at the concept stage, to enable appropriate testing before future large scale deployment.
This role will be responsible for streamlining, simplifying and improving core operational processes, driving a continuous improvement culture, with systems and tools to drive productivity, a unified team and stakeholder experience. The ability to listen and support change in a simplified manner that entails a positive experience to the customer and the team will be instrumental to the role.
Some of the key accountabilities:
- Provide strategic leadership around initiatives focused on the improvement of core end-to-end business/store processes
- Act as a change agent to drive a continuous improvement culture and ensure Agile methodologies and principles are utilised consistently
- Identify root cause of process challenges which may sit outside of the end to end process itself and work closely with the relevant business unit to understand the relationship between process and value output
- Engage and partner closely with Woolies X on end to end process mapping and alignment to OKRs and future strategy
- Collaborating and influencing with internal stakeholders including Supermarket Operations, National Operations, Group Enablement, Woolies X & Commercial Teams
About You | Mōu
To succeed in this role you will need to bring an extensive background of end-to-end store operations in all aspects of a complex retail business. You will be a talented manager from a programme and delivery environment with single and multisite leadership experience from high value retail/supermarket chains, ideally having both operational and multi functional experience.
Possessing an engaging and warm nature, you will be a strong communicator in every sense, able to influence and negotiate at all levels and be inspirational in driving change.
You will be a strategic thinker who will be viewed as a continuous improvement SME bringing a detailed understanding of business drivers and delivering in an Agile practice.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- 7-10+ years leadership experience in an FMCG/Retail environment
- Demonstrated experience facilitating sessions with business leaders and operational teams
- Results orientated, relentlessly uncovering challenges and collaborate with teams to find suitable solutions
- Experience in or a strong desire to learn about the present & future of digital related activities
- Structured and organised to enable proper tracking and execution support across stores and nationally
