We’re looking for a National Development Manager to join our Property team here in Aotearoa reporting to our Head of Property.
Joining our Property team you’ll take accountability for leading our Property Development team and a portfolio of property-related investments and developments to achieve goals in line with Woolworths strategic objectives. This is a rewarding role as you take development projects through from inception to completion.
About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
Key responsibilities will include:
- Set the overall framework for the property development area of a significant New Zealand enterprise with a development focus to deliver on strategic objectives.
- Manage and lead the team through coaching and mentoring, performance management, task allocation and capability building.
- Achieve internal business and authority approvals for projects, ensuring to maximise the amenity and financial outcome for Woolworths and deliver long term team, customer and community outcomes.
- Provide accurate reporting (Monthly to Bi-monthly) on active developments and property strategies.
About You | Mōu
To succeed in this role you will need to be able to creatively conceptualise development opportunities, and pursue those offering true viability and benefit.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A senior executive with 10+ years experience in a similar field, coupled with design coordination and planning approval experience in retail and/or mixed-use (commercial or residential) developments.
- Significant experience in managing the design and construction of large commercial developments.
- Experience in leading a consultant team to deliver, lease and open retail and/or mixed-use centres.
- Advanced negotiation, influencing, problem solving and communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of property economics, legislation, valuation, planning, property law, deal structures.
- Solid commercial acumen combined with an understanding and experience with financial modelling.
- An exceptional professional network, with a proven ability to generate market leading opportunities, solve problems and deliver outstanding results.
